About Becca Imbur
Books are a huge part of my life. I make artist books using vibrant colors and achieve various effects through chemical reactions and water. I apply the black and white marks using cola pens (handmade calligraphy nibs made out of aluminum cans). Handwriting is an art form within itself that I use to produce contrasting colors on the papers that I create to my book covers. I use my handprinted papers to journal my life. Each handmade book represents a time in my life—the good and the bad, the ups and the downs.
When I am not in my studio, you can find me teaching book and paper arts all over the New River Valley. I enjoy taking long, meandering walks in downtown Blacksburg, hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains and hanging out with my super creative daughter, River.
